Downtown Laurel 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Laurel Main Street is reaching out to area businesses interested in exhibiting a vehicle or sponsoring the 2nd Annual Touch-A-Truck. The event takes place in Downtown Laurel on April 11, 2015 and gives children and adults a glimpse into the inner workings of an array of cars, tractors and trucks that keep communities across South Mississippi running.
This interactive event relies on the generosity of exhibitors to display their biggest and best machinery, trucks and other vehicles in the parking lot between downtown Laurel and Caroll Gartin Boulevard. Throughout the morning children can climb on, learn about, and discover their favorite vehicles that they usually only admire from afar. Last year’s most popular exhibitors provided an activity or had staff on hand to describe the inner workings of their machines.
Proceeds from Touch a Truck will go towards Laurel Main Street that assists downtown businesses in renovating the street faces of their buildings and revitalizes public areas. A portion of last year’s proceeds helped the Laurel-Jones County Library commission and paint a new mural on the side of their building, among other things.
Interested exhibitors and sponsors can find vehicle guildlines and registration as well as sponsorship levels and forms at http://laurelmainstreet.com/event/touch-a-truck.
