Public Hearing Notice Initial Hearing

The City of Laurel, Mississippi, is considering applying to the Mississippi Home Corporation for rehabilitation/reconstruction of homes.

Mississippi Home Corporation through The State of Mississippi has projected an allocation of approximately $3,850,911 that will be made available to cities, towns, and counties, on a competitive basis to undertake eligible rehabilitation/reconstruction and other HOME Projects.  The activities for which funds may be used are in the areas of affordable housing for low and very-low income persons.

More specific details regarding eligible activities, program requirements and the rating system will be provided at a public hearing which will at the City Hall, 3rd floor, City Council Chambers, located at 401 N. 5th Avenue Laurel, MS on Friday, August 2nd and 11:00am.  The purpose of this hearing will be to obtain citizen input into the development of the applications.
