And the winner is...

In 1909, the landscape architectural firm of Fredrick Law Olmstead was involved in the first city master plan which included five green parks known as a "string of emeralds". Olmstead, known as the "father of American Architecture", designed our country its first public spaces such as New York City's Central Park and the grounds surrounding the U. S. Capitol.
