To show support for people with Alzheimer’s and the loved ones who care for them, city employees wore purple in honor of PAINT IT PURPLE! Sponsored by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health and the Alzheimer’s Association, the PAINT IT PURPLE! Campaign was held on Friday, September 21 statewide to raise awareness and financial support to accelerate progress of new treatments, preventions and ultimately, a cure of Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer’s Association works on a global, national and local level to enhance care and support for all those affected by Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
