Day in the Park 2016

Make plans to come out and enjoy Day in the Park, the Laurel Arts League’s largest annual event, that takes place the Saturday, May 7 in Mason Park. The day begins with a 5K race followed by a Fun Run. Throughout the day, patrons can enjoy live music, student and juried art competitions, delicious festival cuisine, children’s activities, and the works of over 100 skilled craftsmen from across the region.
Registration is open for the 44th annual Day in the Park 5K and Fun Run. Runners can participate in the 5K race, which begins at 8:00 a.m. or the one-mile fun run that immediately follows.
Registration is $25 on the day of the race. The one-mile fun run is $10.
The entertainment lineup for the upcoming Day in the Park Arts Festival on Saturday, May 7 will include dancers and musicians from across the region will entertain throughout the day on the Mason Park main stage. Patrons can enjoy the works of these talented artists on the sloping lawn beneath beautiful oak trees. Jones Middle School Show Choir, NSync, will kick of the entertainment lineup at 9am. Following the middle school will be the Laurel High School Gospel Choir at 9:30; Laurel Ballet Academy at 10; Doombalaya, a ten-piece band from New Orleans, at 11; and recording artists from Scuffling Record Label including The Strays and Midnight Revel from 12:15 until 3pm.
