Two Laurel Pools Open on June 1
With the final day of school behind them, kids can begin the summer with a dip in Laurel’s public swimming pools. Visit one of our three Laurel pools open for your swimming pleasure during the summer beginning June 1.
The two outdoor pools are Knaive Pool at the L.T. Ellis Center located at 610 Munson St. and Oak Park Pool on Queensburg Ave. The pools are open from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, Monday through Saturday for public swim. Admission is $2.00.
The Laurel Recreation Department is offering youth ages 14 and under the opportunity to get head start on the basics of swimming. Swimming lessons with Alonzo Crosby are available at Oak Park Pool beginning June 17th. Classes will be held Monday thru Friday with an Advanced Class from 9:00am to10:00am and a Beginners Class from 10:00am to 11:00am.
The Natatorium pool is open year-round. Rates are $4.00 and free for children, age 3 and under. Family swim passes start at $125 for three months. Summer hours are Monday through Friday from 1:00pm to 7:45pm and Saturdays from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
Swim lessons are also available at the Natatorium starting June 3. Eight 30-minute classes are offered Mondays through Thursdays in two-week sessions. Classes are taught by certified instructors. For more information, call the Natatorium at 601.428.7665.
