Magnolia State Bank Chili Cook-Off

Downtown Laurel (500 block of Central Avenue) 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

The 4th Annual Magnolia State Bank Chili Cook-off will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, February 21 in Historic Downtown Laurel. The Chili Cook-off will feature chili prepared by approximately 30 teams as they compete for the titles of Best Overall Chili, Best Decorated Booth, and People’s Choice Chili. Among this year’s competitors are last year’s winner Sanderson Farms with their chicken chili. No telling past people’s choice winners Hot 2 Trot will be looking to take back the coveted trophy.

• Grand Prize: $1000 & The coveted traveling trophy
• 2nd Prize: $500
• 3rd Prize: $250
• People’s Choice: Hand-crafted pottery by Carl Buchanan
• Spirit Award: Hand-crafted pottery by Carl Buchanan

People can help to name a chili champion by sampling chili throughout the day and voting for their favorite chili. Winners will be announced at the main stage toward the end of Cook-off at 2:00 p.m. All entries are cooked on site and judged by a team of professionals.

You can purchase All-You-Can-Eat bowl for $10 or a Bottomless  keepsake pottery bowl for $25 handcrafted by local potter, Carl Buchanan.

Children under twelve EAT FREE all-you-can-eat chili and hot dogs!
