Does Your Home Need to Be More ENERGYWISE?

WHAT IS ENERGYWISE?

EnergyWise is a special program geared toward helping low-income Mississippi Power customers reduce their energy costs by providing free weatherization improvements for homes that do not meet current energy efficient standards. Examples of possible improvements include weather stripping, insulation and other selected repairs and upgrades that can lower your bills and keep your home more comfortable year-round.

HOW DO I QUALIFY’?
To qualify for the EnergyWise program, you must meet the following criteria:
Be a Mississippi Power customer
Own the house to be weatherized
The house must be your primary residence
Have a total household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level

GROSS HOUSEHOLD INCOME BY RESIDENTS:
1 – $23,540
2 – $31,860
3 – $40,180
4 – $48,500
5 – $56,820
Add $8,320 for each additional member of the household

In addition to the above criteria, a member of your household must also demonstrate at least one of the following conditions:

  • Be 65 years or older in age
  • Receive public or private disability payments
  • Have children in primary or secondary schools or younger
  • Be in a home with a high energy burden
    Have a residential energy expenditure that exceeds the median level of residential expenditures for all low-income households in theĀ· state
    Can demonstrate a chronic inability to pay
