Local Tennis Pro Earns PTR Certification

Jesse Husband of Laurel, MS has completed the education requirements and passed all parts of the exam to earn Professional Tennis Registry’s Level 1 Certification to teach tennis for 10 & under. Husband completed a comprehensive on court and written examination administered by PTR to earn the rating of Associate Instructor. He is currently working for the Laurel Parks & Recreation Department.

“I am excited to bring a fresh perspective for the youth of Laurel and Jones County. Tennis is fun for kids of all ages and levels and provides many social opportunities and I want to see more kids involved and make the Laurel Sportsplex a destination for tennis tournaments and competitive play,” Husband said.

PTR is the first organization to offer five distinct education and tennis teaching certification pathways: 10 & under, 11 to 17, Performance, Adult Development and Senior Development.

PTR is the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals with more than 15,000 members in 125 countries. It has the greatest percentage of multicultural and women members of any such organization. PTR is dedicated to educating, certifying, and servicing tennis teachers and coaches around the world in order to grow the game.
