May Yard of the Month

Congratulations to Tommy and Louise Hatten of Laurel for being selected for having the May Yard of the Month. General upkeep of the yard and property is paramount to these two who say they enjoy living in Laurel. The Hattens have done a superior job in maintaining their yards in such a way that they enhance the overall curb appeal of the entire community after moving from Illinois in 2011. Both Tommy and Louise are long time educators. Tommy is a proud graduate of Oak Park High School. He met his wife Louise while they both attended Alcorn State University. Their love for people and community is evident in all aspects of their lives. The Hattens are avid sports fans and you will regularly see them attending any number of local sporting events. They are especially proud of the 2014 5A State Football champs, the Laurel Golden Tornadoes. Both Tommy and Louise are responsible for the maintenance of their yard which includes a number of shrubs, vegetables and flowers. The Hattens attend St. Elmo Baptist church. They have one son, Terrance, who lives in Elwood, Illinois.
