Mayor Participates in Mississippi Mayors’ Forum

The Mississippi Mayors’ Forum (MMF) is an exciting new assistance opportunity developed in collaboration between the John. C. Stennis Institute of Government and Community Development at Mississippi State University and the Mississippi Municipal League. The program provides a select group of Mississippi Mayors with access to a panel of resource professionals who will assist in the identification and development of implementable solutions to specific challenges impacting their community. Mayor Magee participated in March 2015 and was quoted as saying, “What better way than to bring a group of mayors and experts and discuss ways to improve the things that are going on in our cities.”

While the specific challenges presented by the participating mayors during the forum are unique, all will fall under a similar theme or focus. Themes could include such areas as finance and budgeting, public relations, compliance with state and federal regulations, infrastructure, personnel administration, etc.

“They (Mississippi Mayors’ Form) are in the business of helping cities and it’s making a better Mississippi,” said Magee.
