Officer John A. Windsor is ready to serve the Laurel community.
He joined the ranks of the Laurel Police Department when he was sworn in at city hall by Mayor Melvin Mack. Laurel police officers, Styron Keeler, Jerome Jackson, Joe Berlin and Chief Tyrone Stewart were among those that filed in the mayor’s office on Tuesday morning to witness the official swearing-in ceremony. City Administrator, Dennis Keveryn, held the bible as Mack read the oath of office.
Windsor has “all the qualifications we’re looking for,” Chief Stewart said. “We are extremely happy to have him join the team. He brings over 15 years of experience and knowledge to the table. By hiring Officer Windsor, we maintain having a sufficient staff and keep the city safe. It’s one of the reasons why we’ve had one of the lowest crime rates of all-time in the City of Laurel.”
