Laurel School District Promotes Upcoming Kindergarten Round-Up at Touch-a-Truck Event

March 5, 2025

The Laurel School District is gearing up for its highly anticipated Kindergarten Round-Up event for the 2025-2026 school year, and Communications Specialist Quindelum Dungy was on hand at the recent Touch-a-Truck event to inform local families about this exciting opportunity.

The Kindergarten Round-Up is designed for incoming 4-year-old and 5-year-old kindergarten students, providing a fun and informative way for parents and guardians to learn more about the district's outstanding early education programs. The event will take place on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Former Mason Elementary School Auditorium (2726 Old Bay Springs Rd., Laurel, MS).

Quindelum Dungy, representing the Laurel School District, took the opportunity during the Touch-a-Truck event to engage with families and encourage them to pre-register their children for the Kindergarten Round-Up. This community event, which allowed children to explore various vehicles and engage with local first responders, was a perfect setting for spreading the word about the upcoming registration day.

At the Kindergarten Round-Up, families will enjoy a variety of activities, including games, information sessions, and the chance to complete the registration process. It’s a great opportunity for parents and guardians to meet district staff, learn about kindergarten programs, and ask any questions they may have about their child’s upcoming school year.

What to Bring to Kindergarten Round-Up:

  • Child’s Birth Certificate
  • Immunization Form (Form 121)
  • Two Proofs of Residency
  • Your 4K or 5K Child (Must be 4 or 5 years old on or before September 1, 2025)

Parents and guardians are encouraged to pre-register their children in advance by visiting www.laurelschools.org/kindergarten. The district is excited to welcome families and ensure that every child is set up for success in their educational journey.
