Pearl’s Diner Celebrated Ribbon Cutting for Pearls on Wheels

February 18, 2022

On Friday, February 18, 2022 at 10 a.m. Pearl Campbell, her family, her staff, the Jones County Chamber of Commerce and members of the local community gathered at Pearl’s Diner to celebrate the ribbon cutting for Pearl’s On Wheels, a food truck that will provide Pearl’s nationally recognized cuisine, to people all over.

“Somebody asked me what this means,” Laurel Mayor Johnny Magee stated at the ribbon cutting, “ I told them it meant that a lot of people are going to be able to come get some good food!”

Pearl Campbell thanked God for her success and for the journey that she has been on for the last several years. “I have enjoyed giving back to my hometown,” she said. “I want to thank all of you and ask all of you to continue to pray for us so we can continue to be great servants.”

Campbell said that since the diner appeared on HGTV’s “Hometown”, she has had visitors from all 50 states and seven different countries. Now, Pearl’s Diner, and its excellent food and service can go to the people.

The City of Laurel, established as a lumber town in 1882, is conveniently situated approximately two hours from larger destination cities such as Jackson, Biloxi, New Orleans, and Mobile. In recent years, the city has become a destination all its own thanks, in part, to its starring role in HGTV’s popular “Hometown” series. As Laurel, and interest in it, continues to grow, we are committed to providing the resources necessary to help all of our residents and businesses reach their full potential.
