What inspired you to host/manage Airbnbs in Laurel, and what makes them unique?
Liz started hosting as a hobby—an opportunity presented itself, and she went for it. After winning the top Airbnb in the state two years in a row, people began reaching out to her for help with their own rentals. What started as a passion project quickly grew into a business, and I joined her in 2021.
For Liz, hosting is a way to share the town she grew up in, along with her childhood memories of Laurel, with our guests. For me, I love the connections we make and the chance to welcome people from all over the world!
What makes our properties unique is that each one has its own special touch. Some have been remodeled on “Home Town,” some are in prime locations within walking distance of everything, and others feature pools, great kitchens, cozy spaces, or unique art. We put a lot of thought into what we’d love to have when traveling and incorporate those details into our Airbnbs whenever possible. Each stay is designed to be a memorable experience in a great neighborhood or area.

Each of our properties has its own unique charm, but many offer a romantic appeal with upscale touches and cozy atmospheres. From stylish apartments with stunning views of Laurel—featuring king-size beds, luxe linens, and inviting furniture—to boutique-style spaces that offer a more intimate, curated experience than a traditional hotel, there’s something for every couple. And for a truly one-of-a-kind stay, we even have a grain silo turned into a two-bedroom house, ideal for those looking for a unique and unforgettable experience. Again, every property has its own unique charm, but we have several features that couples particularly enjoy. A few of our rentals have private pools, perfect for a secluded and relaxing getaway. Many guests love cozying up by the fireplace—whether it’s to watch a movie or simply unwind together without distractions. Some properties are tucked away in the woods, offering a peaceful retreat where couples can truly disconnect and enjoy each other’s company.

If you’re after a unique experience, there are a few activities that require advance planning, such as private wine tastings at Cask and Barrel or enjoying an afternoon tea party at The Bird Dog. One thing about Liz—if you have a special request or an idea, she’ll do everything she can to make it happen!
In your opinion, what is the most romantic spot in Laurel MS, and why?
A horse-drawn carriage ride through downtown Laurel (especially during the Christmas season) is easily the most romantic experience in town. Cozy up with your sweetheart as you glide past historic buildings, charming storefronts, and twinkling string lights that illuminate the streets. With a glass of wine in hand and the crisp evening air setting the mood, it’s the perfect way to soak in the small-town magic and create a memory you’ll never forget.
