The Nail Parlor in Laurel celebrates ribbon cutting

February 8, 2022

On Tuesday, February 8th members of the community joined with the Jones County Chamber of Commerce to welcome a new business to Laurel. The Nail Parlor, located in the shopping center behind Game Stop next to Sweet Magnolia’s Bakery, will officially open its doors to clients on Thursday.

The parlor is owned and operated by sisters Kenya Nguyen, Kathy Hawkins, and Jennifer Hawkins. Kenya, who has been doing nails since 2000, and Kathy, who is an esthetician, will continue to work with their established clients while using the shop’s central location to welcome new ones.

Nguyen explained that their main priorities will be to provide outstanding customer service and maintain high standards for sanitation throughout the shop.

They will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. They will be closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Appointments can be made by calling 601.340.3364. Walk-ins are welcome.

The City of Laurel, established as a lumber town in 1882, is conveniently situated approximately two hours from larger destination cities such as Jackson, Biloxi, New Orleans, and Mobile. In recent years, the city has become a destination all its own thanks, in part, to its starring role in HGTV’s popular “Hometown” series. As Laurel, and interest in it, continues to grow, we are committed to providing the resources necessary to help all of our residents and businesses reach their full potential.
